About

Homophobia in the workplace is an issue facing nearly all people in the LGBT community.  Homophobic Jobs is a place to meet other people who have experienced LGBT related issues, especially homophobia at work.  Out jobs rule our lives and there is no reason that our sexual orientation should just be confined to home and the local bar.  Bedroom secrets should stay there, but our identity is defined by individual characteristics, including our sexual orientation.

Here we are also creating an outlet for people to express their thoughts and ideas about gay issues in the workplace.  It is important for use to share stories, news, and information about how we reconcile the two halves of our lives: our LGBT and professional identities.

The plan is to build a base of content creators for the HomophobicJobs.com blog, thereby gathering a wide-range of views on seemingly endless amount of issues.  Open, frank, unedited discussions are available on the discussion forums today.  There will also be a directory of companies with the collected experiences of contributors regarding how these businesses treat people in the LGBT community.  Surveys will also round out the content here that will give us insight into how real people are treated with regards to their sexual orientation at work.

This is also a safe, anonymous place for all to share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences.  You never have to use your real name here, in fact it is discouraged.  My real name is Jason (no last name given… yet).  I run this place and want you to feel at home.  Your anonymity will be protected as much as possible, but I will comply with law enforcement officials and court orders.  (Hopefully it never comes to that!)  If there is anything I can do to help you, I will.  Enjoy!
